The Creative Yoga + Movement Retreat

where yoga and movement awaken creativity

Yoga. Stillness. Creativity. Connection.

What if the creativity, clarity, and inspiration you've been searching for aren't something you need to find—but something you simply need space to access?

The Creative Body Retreat is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with your body, and awaken your creative mind through yoga, somatic movement, meditation, breathwork, music, nature, and meaningful connection.

When we quiet the constant noise of everyday life and regulate our nervous system, we create space for something powerful to emerge: intuition, creativity, clarity, and a deeper connection to ourselves.

This retreat isn't about becoming an artist or mastering yoga poses. It's about using movement and stillness as a pathway back to yourself—because creativity isn't limited to art. It's the way we solve problems, express ourselves, dream and create a life that feels meaningful.

Each day is thoughtfully designed to help you move with intention, rest deeply, spark your imagination and reconnect with what makes you feel most alive.

You'll leave feeling grounded, inspired and renewed—with practices that you can use in daily life and support your well-being long after the retreat ends.

Come as you are. Leave more connected to yourself, your creativity, and your purpose.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This isn't a week of nonstop classes or a strict schedule. The retreat will offer a mix of movement, activities and special experiences and plenty of downtime.

Movement

A combination of yoga, strength, fitness and other movement-based classes throughout the week. Classes offer different levels and styles, so you can challenge yourself, slow down or simply move in a way that feels good.

Special Experiences

Throughout the week, we'll introduce creative sessions, workshops and experiences designed to make the retreat more than just a vacation. The exact schedule will be announced as we get closer to the retreat.

Meet Your Teachers

VICTORIA CHASE
I’ve now been teaching yoga for over 15 years starting in Washington, DC to Baltimore to Los Angeles and now living in Mexico. My background is deeply rooted in traditional yoga and I studied Ashtanga yoga for over 10 years. I’ve led yoga retreats, taught at events and festivals all over the US, Mexico and Europe.

Music and creativity have always been a part of my life, starting with piano and voice lessons at a young age. I grew up singing at church and studied music in college for a couple years— singing was my ultimate dream. But after college, I began teaching yoga and any musical pursuit was forgotten. Until a few years ago when music came back into my life and I’ve been singing in a band for 3 years.

Movement, music and meditation have become my foundation for mental stability, a deeper connection to myself
and self-expression. But no matter where I am, yoga is what grounds me. It’s the practice I return to—again and again—to reset, reconnect and find balance.

While that discipline shaped me, my approach has evolved into something more intuitive—blending strength, creativity and awareness. I believe yoga, movement, meditation helps us not only to have a deeper connection to our core, but the real sweetness is the healing and stability is creates for our mental health. For me, this is the most crucial and important element.

Grace Hart is a versatile artist, dancer and teacher based in New Orleans. Grace’s love for movement began at an early age, training in dance with Delta Festival Ballet and exploring theater with various local companies. In 2012, she moved to New York City study dance at Marymount Manhattan College, where she earned her BFA in Modern Dance in 2016.

Grace experienced overuse injuries that led her to yoga, which became a transformative part of her journey. She completed her 200-hour RYT certification with Sonic Yoga in 2014 and worked at the Jivamukti Yoga School in Union Square.

Grace is based in New Orleans where she teaches yoga and movement. As well as choreographing for dance companies, leads yoga retreats internationally and continues to perform in theater and dance performances all over the country.

How to get to Barbarenas in Puerto Escondido

The Retreat center is located in Brisas de Zicatela, Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico, and is just 15 minutes from Puerto Escondido International airport (PXM). Frequent daily flights connect PXM to Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX) in Mexico City. Local taxis will bring you to Barabarenas from the airport for roughly $10-$20 US dollars. US citizens do not require a Visa to visit Mexico but should have a valid passport.

It’s just a 7 minute walk to the beach La Punta in Puerto Escondido and surrounded by miles of beautiful sandy beaches on the Pacific Ocean. The famous surf break Zicatela is just a short walk and spectate some of the best surfers in the world. Some other near by beaches which are calmer for swimming are Carrizalillo & Baccocha with it’s picturesque views. The water is warm (but not too warm) year around, and while pacific currents can be strong, there are no issues with algae and other pollutants found on the Caribbean side.

Testimonials

“This was such a wonderful retreat! I came back feeling strong, relaxed, and clear-headed. The facilities are gorgeous, the food delicious, the yoga excellent, and Victoria scheduled the retreat with the perfect amount of structured and unstructured time. I will definitely be back!"

-Laura S.

“Truly an incredible weekend! From the location, to the people, to the food, to the yoga! It made it easy to get rooted and connected with my practice with just enough structure with the yoga classes and set meal times, but enough leniency that you could go and explore the area or just chill if that's what your soul needed that weekend. I left with such a full heart, and some new friends! Highly recommend going on Victoria's retreat if you're considering it!”

-Margaux F.

”We can’t thank you enough for putting together such a wonderful retreat. You took care of all of the small and big details in a really thoughtful way so we could enjoy and relax. And thank you for being such a kind, encouraging, and attentive yoga teacher!”
